Rio Ferdinand had Manchester United fans reminiscing about times gone by on Thursday as he posted a throwback photograph alongside some big names.
The central defender, pictured in a Nike grey tracksuit, was all smiles alongside a young Cristiano Ronaldo, striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Wayne Rooney.
Disgruntled supporters quickly began speculating at the difference the four players would make to Jose Mourinho's side right now after an indifferent start to the campaign.
Rooney wasted no time in having his say on the image, tweeted a laughing emoji icon as he saw the funny side of the photograph.
Describing the four United talents as 'like fine wines', Ferdinand was in a relaxed mood ahead of the return to Premier League action this weekend.
The unique array of outfits on display did not go unnoticed on the social network but most focused on the immense talents all four showed when plying their trade at Old Trafford.
United fan Andy Haque tweeted: 'What we would give now to have back a front 3 of ruud @WayneRooney and @Cristiano Ronaldo. Also add in @rioferdy5 who was one of if not the best centre halves in the world.'
One user called Carl Muir wrote: 'Could do with you 4 in a Utd shirt now!'
With transfer fees soaring to previously unseen levels, one United supporter went as far to suggest that even £1billion could not buy the four players in their prime years.
While Ronaldo joined Real Madrid for an at the time world record £80m, Van Nistelrooy made the move to the Bernabeu for just £11m three years earlier. Rooney joined his boyhood team Everton on a free.
United are in desperate need of some attacking magic that Ronaldo, Rooney and Van Nistelrooy showed with such regularity against Chelsea at the weekend.
Mourinho's side dramatically rescued three points at home to Newcastle last time out but a defeat to Maurizio Sarri's side on Saturday would see a 10-point gap between the two sides emerge.
