Pep Guardiola and Sir Alex Ferguson were among the attendees at Bernard Halford's funeral.
Halford was life president of Manchester City after working for the club for 47 years. The former club secretary, who worked for City from 1972 on, passed away at the end of last month at the age of 77.
He was known as 'Mr Manchester City' and would often say that he 'ate, slept and breathed' the club.
Guardiola and Ferguson were among the notable Manchester footballing names to turn out for the funeral in St. Mary's Presbetary Church, Failsworth.
Former City manager Mark Hughes was also in attendance at the event.
City captain Vincent Kompany and Brian Kidd, who has coached at City for 11 years, also attended the funeral.
Kompany had previously led a minute's silence at City's training ground for Halford the day after he passed away.
'Kiddo [Brian Kidd] has asked me to say a few words for Bernard Halford, who passed away sadly yesterday night,' the Belgian defender said.
'I've been at this club for 11 years, Kiddo's been at this club for 10 years, I think some of the things we have to do is bring across to people who have just joined the club, what the history is a little bit of the place.
'Bernard Halford has worked with this club for 47 years, and he's been a part of the history of this club, and he's been a part of everything that's happened before we got to this point.
'A big reason we're here today is because of people like Bernard Halford, and I know that for him it would be the biggest honour to feel that we mentioned him today and that we have a minute of silence for him.
'He passed away and I think we should pay our respects by having a minute of silence.'
Guardiola also provided his own tribute to the 77-year-old, telling the club's website in March: 'It was an honour and a privilege to meet and talk football with him and his knowledge of this football club was amazing.
'He was a great man, but moreover, he was also a great football man with a complete understanding of the game from grass roots level up.
'His whole life was dedicated to the game, but mostly to Manchester City and we were lucky to have him.'
