Flintoff urges Joe Hart to leave Burnley for rivals Preston

Former England number one Joe Hart is not having the best of times at Burnley, having recently been axed for Tom Heaton.

However, he does have some options, and England cricket legend Andrew Flintoff has urged Hart to find a start elsewhere.

Namely, Burnley's local rivals Preston North End, who are currently playing in the Championship.

'It makes sense to move to a bigger club!!' Joked Preston fan Flintoff on Twitter. 'Come on Joe you know it makes sense.'

According to The Sun, Preston are looking for a new goalkeeper and have asked their neighbours if they can have the out of favour Hart, who only joined Burnley at the start of this season.

With Tom Heaton now first choice, and with Nick Pope returning from injury, Joe Hart may find himself less and less of use to the Premier League team.

He would be getting regular football in the Championship with Preston, though. They have just let Chris Maxwell go to Charlton on loan.

Preston are also reportedly keeping an eye on Middlesbrough's Connor Ripley, who's currently at loan at Accrington.

Tom Heaton was given his first Premier League start in 15 months against West Ham, and Sean Dyche was rewarded with a clean sheet in Burnley's 2-0 win.

Prior to that, Burnley had a string of mostly bad results, with losses to Newcastle, Crystal Palace, Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal, and Everton.

Nick Pope started between the sticks against Barnsley in the FA Cup, earning them another clean sheet.

Burnley are currently 16th in the Premier League, two points above the relegation zone.

Preston are also struggling in the Championship, sitting in 17th.
