Fofana removes Leicester from Twitter bio, hinting at £85m Chelsea move

Wesley Fofana has dropped major hints that he is leaving Leicester City in favour of Champions League football with Chelsea.

The 21-year-old has been a target for the Blues, as the club undergoes a major defensive reshuffle after the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

With the arrival of Kalidou Koulibaly, and the expected purchase of Brighton's Marc Cucurella, it seems Chelsea are making a new back line.

And Fofana looks set to be joining at Stamford Bridge - after removing his current side Leicester City from his Twitter bio.

The social media move, which looks to have been changed on Tuesday morning, has got Blues fans excited despite the lack of an official announcement.

Furthermore, a French quote on Instagram, when translated, reads: 'My father told me you're going to annoy a lot of people when you start doing what's best for you and I've begun to realise it.'

It might not be related to a potential Chelsea move - but one of Fofana's friends previously posted a photograph of the defender in a Blues kit.

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers had previously insisted that Fofana is not for sale this summer, but it appears his wishes may have been overruled.

Chelsea are reportedly willing to up their bid for Fofana if they cannot agree with Leicester, with the Foxes thought to be asking for £85m for the French defender.

The move has left Leicester fans concerned about the state of the Foxes' defence going into the Premier League season.

One tweeted: 'Fofana is going and that's a huge problem for us... 5 days before our 1st game to which most of our other defenders we've tried to sell and we have Evans who can't stay fit.'

Another believed 'we are quite literally getting relegated' as a result of Fofana's exit from the King Power Stadium.

Leicester City's Premier League campaign begins at home to Brentford on Sunday.
