Footage has been shared that shows some Manchester City fans targeted Karim Benzema with a laser pen when the Real Madrid striker stepped up to take a late penalty at the Etihad on Tuesday.
The Sky Blues were leading 4-2 at the time, when Aymeric Laporte handled the ball inside his team's box, with the referee awarding a spot kick for Los Blancos.
Despite failing to convert from the spot twice last week away at Osasuna, Benzema didn't hesitate to step up before he smoothly beat Ederson with a Panenka penalty.
"I always get it into my head that if you don't take the penalty, you don't miss the penalty," Benzema said after the game.
"I have a lot of confidence in myself, I do it and it's fine."
Benzema wasn't distracted by the laser pens
Despite being targeted by a laser pen as he readied himself, Benzema demonstrated once more his intelligence by placing the ball into the back of the net with an ice-cool Panenka.
The Frenchman scored twice on the night, with Vinicius celebrating one of his own too after a brilliant solo run.
Manchester City have a narrow 4-3 lead, with the return leg taking place at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday, May 4.
