FOREST GREEN'S goalkeeper has appealed on social media for help funding his new teeth as he revealed a gruesome lip injury.
The 24-year-old James Montgomery was rushed to hospital after a horrible collision with Mansfield's Gethin Jones during Tuesday's League Two clash.
An hour had gone when the stopper sustained the shocking blow to his face after being caught by the opposition's substitute in the 1-1 draw.
Luckily, the ex-Middlesbrough academy and Gateshead goalie appeared to be in good spirits as he provided concerned fans with an update on his condition.
Sharing a snap of the huge, bloody gash on his mouth, Montgomery wrote: “On way to hospital, setting up a just giving page if anyone wants to help me pay for my new teeth.. good point and well done to the lads on coming back from behind! You should see the other lad!!”
The star, who was previously part of Leicester City and ex-England striker Jamie Vardy's V9 academy, is related to Sunderland's legendary FA Cup-winning goalkeeper Jim Montgomery.
As he mentioned in his tweet, Forest Green will be delighted they maintained their play-off push after their draw with the second-placed Stags.
