Fans have poked fun at Danny Welbeck following Arsenal's surprise announcement he will be will leaving them at the end of the season.
The striker was given a warm round of applause from the Arsenal faithful as he said his goodbyes on Sunday ahead of their match with Brighton.
Welbeck has not featured for Arsenal since breaking his ankle in a Europa League clash against Sporting Lisbon on November 8 and will now leave the club once his deal expires in the summer.
The 28-year-old has struggled for fitness over the years and has made just 88 Premier League appearances for Arsenal over five seasons.
Fans couldn't resist twisting the knife and took to Twitter to joke about Welbeck's lack of game time over the past years.
One user even joked he forgot the England international was still a professional footballer.
Another fan wrote: 'I'm going to miss his three games a season.'
Despite his constant battle for fitness, Welbeck is expected to draw interest from several Premier League clubs in the summer.
Everton and Newcastle have already been touted as possible landing spots for the available forward.
