Former Liverpool prodigy Bobby Duncan switches agents

Former Liverpool striker Bobby Duncan has been snapped up by one of Europe’s leading agencies.

Striker Duncan, cousin of Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, has enlisted the services of German agency SportsTotal to manage the next phase of his career following his summer move to Fiorentina. England under-19 forward Duncan’s transfer to Italy was overseen by agent Saif Rubie and caused a stir.

Duncan joined Liverpool from Manchester in 2018 and scored 32 goals for the European champions’ under-18s last season.

Rubie then sensationally accused Liverpool of ‘mentally bullying’ and ‘destroying the life’ of Duncan by forcing him to stay at Anfield against his will.

Liverpool strongly denied the allegations though Duncan, 18, was eventually allowed to leave to join Fiorentina and is determined to continue progressing and fulfill his potential under new management.

He has netted three times in eight games for Fiorentina's youth side and scored four goals and provided two assists in five games for England under-19s this season.

Duncan could now be heading out on loan this month to gain more senior experience. A decision on his future will now be made in conjunction with SportsTotal, the biggest European agencies whose top clients include Real Madrid’s World Cup winner Toni Kroos and Borussia Dortmund captain Marco Reus and who also look after many of the countries’ top young players.

Duncan will be represented by the firm’s CEO Sascha Breese who counts Kroos and Arsenal target, RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano, among his personal clients.

Breese also has Premier League connections having brought the likes of Fabian Schar to Newcastle and Josip Drmic to Norwich.
