Former Sevilla boss Joaquin Caparros has paid tribute to Jose Antonio Reyes after he was killed in a car accident.

Caparros was the Sevilla coach during Reyes' first few years in the team as a youngster.

"It's really hard to take, it's all happened so quickly," Caparros said at a wake at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

"It didn't seem real that he'd passed away, such a young boy, with his whole life ahead of him."

Reyes was sold to Arsenal in 2004 while Caparros was still in charge.

"I've always said that there was a before and after the sale of Reyes.

"The trophies were there, but the club had to have a clean out, and Reyes contributed a lot at that point.

"Reyes was a very cheerful boy, always with a smile on his face. I was his coach and when I went to Utrera I saw him with his family, with everyone.

"It was a blow, we're all very hurt."
