Former Tottenham and Fulham midfielder Lewis Holtby is discussing a deal to join Blackburn Rovers.
The 29-year-old, who has an English father and German mother, is a free agent after leaving Hamburg at the end of last season.
Holtby had offers from China and Besiktas in Turkey but is keen to test himself in England again albeit in the Championship.
The midfielder was in England on Wednesday ahead of medical tests and final talks with manager Tony Mowbray.
Blackburn are currently 12th in the table, six points behind leaders Leeds United after finishing last season in 15th place in the Championship.
Former Germany international Holtby made 42 appearances for Spurs between 2013 and 2015 and had a brief loan spell with Fulham before returning to Germany with Hamburg.
