Enzo Fernandez was one of several players which Chelsea signed in January and tied down to a long-term deal
After the controversy which followed the arrivals of Mykhailo Mudryk and Fernandez, it looked as if Chelsea wouldn't dish out anymore lengthy contracts. However, that does not appear to be the case.
The Blues reportedly included an option to extend the Argentine's deal by a further year, which, according to reliable TyC Sports journalist Cesar Luis Merlo, they have now triggered. Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of the west Londoners' clash with Brighton, Lampard was quizzed on the matter.
Without official confirmation from the club, he remained coy. Lampard said: "I can't confirm because I don't know. I've enough on my plate. From working with Enzo, he has been a standout player and attitude. He's a fantastic player for this club going forward and exactly the type of profile you should aim for."
