Frankfurt chief: The Atmosphere of Arsenal's home was a complete catastrophe

Eintracht Frankfurt's sporting director Fredi Bobic was highly critical of the atmosphere at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday, which was ultimately the final straw for the Arsenal board who sacked Unai Emery on Friday morning.

The Bundesliga side came from behind to beat the Gunners and keep alive their hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages, but it was the empty seats which really caught the eye.

Many Arsenal supporters stayed away in protest against manager Unai Emery, who was sacked on Friday - and Bobic afterwards described the atmosphere as a 'complete catastrophe'.

Speaking to DAZN, Bobic said:  'The atmosphere was a complete catastrophe.

'There was nothing happening. It was just like the weather: dour and boring.'

The club claimed on Thursday evening that the official attendance was 49,419.

Many Arsenal supporters opted against attending Thursday's match in protest against Unai Emery, who was relieved of his duties on Friday morning by the club.
