Jack Wilshere is currently training with Championship outfit Bournemouth in a bid to keep up his fitness during his search for a new club.
The 28-year-old saw his contract with West Ham scrapped by mutual consent in October after an injury-ridden two-year spell - and has now returned to his former team to take part in sessions.
The Bournemouth Echo claim that there is currently no deal in place for the south coast side to sign Wilshere permanently, however.
Wilshere made 27 appearances for Bournemouth during the 2016-17 season after joining on a season-long loan switch from Arsenal.
And while the England international remains without a new club, Jason Tindall has allowed Wilshere to train alongside his first-team stars.
Wilshere helped Bournemouth achieve a ninth-placed finish in the Premier League, the club's highest finish in the top flight.
The midfielder also memorably played a key role in the club's dramatic 4-3 triumph over Liverpool in December 2016.
His loan spell was brought to an end in April 2017, however, after sustaining a fracture following a collision with Tottenham talisman Harry Kane.
Bournemouth have been open to allowing former players work with them after leaving.
Charlie Daniels, Marc Pugh and Andrew Surman, all long-term servants, used the club's facilities after leaving and soon secured permanent moves elsewhere.
Wilshere admitted last month that securing an unlikely return to Arsenal is 'a dream'.
'Listen, you never know,' he told the ITV Football Football Show, in conversation with presenter Mark Pougatch and Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend.
'I'm an Arsenal man. Andros, there's nothing, I've not spoken to anyone or anything but that would be the dream.
'I'm not stupid to know that there's probably no chance of it happening but I'm an Arsenal man, I love the club and want to see the club do well.'
A youth academy graduate at the Emirates, Wilshere became the club's youngest ever debutant at the age of 16 but his endured a career plagued by setbacks.
