Gary Neville has heaped praise on Erik ten Hag for the work he has done in transforming Manchester United since his arrival.

The United boss won his first trophy at the club after his side beat Newcastle 2-0 in the Carabao Cup final and ended the Red Devils' long wait for a trophy.

Neville believes that Ten Hag has been able to do a great deal of work with the players and has already turned the squad into winners.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the cup final, Neville was full of admiration for the boss on a 'huge day' for the club.

The pundit said: 'Huge day for Manchester United. Casemiro is at the heart of it but really it's about one man having transformed this team from whiners into winners in such a short period of time Erik ten Hag - what a job that he's done.

'Players that we'd given up on, players that we thought shouldn't play for Manchester United again, they're still out there performing at a really high level,' continued Neville.

The 48-year-old also added that after picking up the first piece of silverware on offer, Ten Hag's side could soon be adding more.

Neville added: 'They've got a spirit, they've got a fight and they've got a real chance of coming back and winning trophies beyond this again because you can see something emerging with him.'
