Newly-promoted Fulham have sent a medical team to Marseille in a bid to rush through the signing of Andre Franck Zambo Anguissa.

Sportsmail exclusively revealed on Wednesday that the Cameroon international was in talks over a £25million deal to the Craven Cottage club and was due to fly in to London.

However, with Anguissa struggling to make connections, Fulham took the initiative to send a delegation to the south of France where the 22-year-old is undergoing his medical ahead of signing today.

In what will be a five-year contract, the central midfielder has earned 79 appearances for the Ligue 1 side since he joined from Stade de Reims in 2015.

He has also earnt 11 caps for Cameroon and made his debut for his country in a 1-0 win over Tunisia in a friendly match in March 2017.

Standing at six-foot exactly, his stand-out ability is still his physicality, but he is also comfortable with the ball at his feet as well as drive forward.

Slaviša Jokanović's side have so far been one of the busiest clubs during this current transfer window which ends today.

They have so far acquired Jean Michael Seri, Maxime Le Marchand, Fabricio Agosto Ramirez, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Alfie Mawson and Calum Chambers.

German international Andre Schurrle has also joined a two-season long loan from Borussia Dortmund.

Fulham make their return to Premier League action this Saturday in front of their home crowd at Craven Cottage against fellow Londoners, Crystal Palace.

Not only will it be Fulham's first game in the top flight for four years, coincidentally it will be against the team they last faced in the Premier League back in May 2014.
