Gabriel brutally MOCKS Spurs on social media after thrashed North London rivals

Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes wasted no time in mocking rivals Tottenham after Sunday's derby drubbing - taking to social media to post a picture of himself revelling on the team coach.

The 28-year-old defender appeared in his Gunners tracksuit, taking the short journey back across north London with his man of the match award, a bag of M&Ms, a can of Rio... and a set of playing cards with the number four turned to face the camera, indicating the number of goals they put past hapless Spurs.

Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyokeres scored two goals each in the 4-1 drubbing - just three months after they won by the same scoreline in the reverse fixture.

And the post appeared to go down well with Gabriel's team-mates, with captain Declan Rice replying with five laughing emojis and three hearts and Gabriel Martinello and Piero Hincapie both replying with 'Completinho chefe' - Brazilian slang meaning 'complete boss'.

Cristhian Mosquera also enjoyed it, replying with four laughing emojis - which former Arsenal women's star Alex Scott approved as well, posting two applause emojis.

Gabriel's Brazil team-mate Richarlison may not have seen the funny side, though. The Spurs forward, who came off the bench in Sunday's defeat, was subtly tagged into the post, as spotted by some eagle-eyed fans.

One user, aspiringfitfam, replied: 'Over to you, Richarlison' with three laughing emojis and another, nyilkishema_ wrote 'Bro really tagged Richarlison.'

It continues their light-hearted online feud, which began last July when the Spurs star posted a picture of his Man of the Match award and tagged Gabriel after Tottenham's 1-0 win over Arsenal in Hong Kong.

On that occasion, Gabriel responded by posting a picture of the three previous man of the match awards he had won against Spurs - one from a 3-2 win in 2023-24 and in both wins the following season. He now has another to add to his collection.

The defender followed that post with another after the 4-1 win at the Emirates in November. He was struggling with a hamstring injury so did not play in that game but posted a photo of himself along with the player of the month trophy he had recently won, along with Eze's shirt. Eze scored a hat-trick in that game.

Gabriel has an enviable record in North London derbies, ending on the winning side in eight of his 11, losing just two.

Arsenal's win restores their five-point lead clear at the top of the Premier League table, following Manchester City's win against Newcastle on Saturday.

The Gunners, though, have played a game more and still have to travel to the Etihad before the end of the season.
