Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher reflected on their pre-season predictions during Sky Sports' final Monday Night Football programme of the season.

The Premier League will bring another season to a dramatic close on Sunday with City and Arsenal taking the title race to the final day, while the last relegation spot is also still not officially secured.

The iconic Sky Sports duo previously gave their predictions for the campaign ahead of last summer and they both got some right, while others were wide of the mark.

Carragher predicted Manchester city will be crowned champions while Neville opted for Arsenal.

One of them will be proven right on Sunday, with Pep Guardiola's men favourites to pick up a fourth consecutive title.

Both Carragher and Neville thought Manchester United would finish in the top four but Erik ten Hag's men currently sit in eighth after a dismal campaign.

'I think most people would have gone for United in the top four. It's been a massive underperformance and a bad season,' Neville said.

Carragher predicted Chelsea and Newcastle will take fifth and sixth, but that will not be the case come this weekend. Neville was also off the mark as he had opted for Chelsea and Aston Villa.

The former Liverpool defender got his relegation predictions spot on with Luton set to join Sheffield United and Burnley in dropping down to the Championship.

Neville got two of those right but predicted Bournemouth, who currently sit in 11th spot, to get relegated instead of Burnley.

He said: 'I'd gone gone to see Kompany and Bellamy earlier in the season, Kompany when they came back from pre-season. I just never thought with the money they spent and the way they dominated the Championship they'd go back down.

'It has been disappointing for Burnley I mean obviously you give them a bit of a softer time because teams coming up from the Championship it's not easy but I think they will be really disappointed with how it's gone.'

Neville and Carragher both predicted Manchester City's Erling Haaland will be this season's top goalscorer. They looked set to be proven right with the Norwegian striker leading the chart with 25 goals, currently four ahead of Cole Palmer.

Tottenham's James Maddison was predicted to make the biggest impact as a new signing but he went on to be inconsistent after a bright start to the season.

Meanwhile, Neville went for Declan Rice, who has lived up to expectations following his £105million move from West Ham.
