Lakers star Kobe died in a helicopter crash on Sunday morning, alongside his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven others.
Orange Coast College baseball coach John Altobelli, 56, his daughter Alyssa and wife Keri were also among those who died.
Harbor Day School assistant coach Christina Mauser is also among the victims, with her husband posting an emotional message on social media.
The group were believed to be en route to a practice in Thousand Oaks.
The chopper is said to have caught fire after going down, as emergency services battled in vain to save those on board.
There has been a massive outpouring of grief around the world.
Today Steven Gerrard shared a photo of him and Kobe to Instagram and paid tribute to him, saying "RIP Kobe."
Sadio Mane posted a photo of Kobe and his daughter Gianna and said: "Rip Champion."
Mo Salah also shared a photo of Kobe and Gianna to his Instagram story and captioned it with crying and praying emojis.
Joe Gomez shared a photo of Kobe in his Lakers shirt and said: "Rest in paradise legend."
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson also shared a photo of Kobe and Gianna and said "Thoughts and prayers with the Bryant family. Heartbreaking. RIP."
Alisson Becker posted a photo of Kobe on the basketball court to his Instagram story and paid tribute to him, saying "Rest in peace Legend."
Daniel Sturridge also shared a photo of him and Kobe and said: "Rest In Peace to one of the Goats True inspiration to people all around the world especially athletes and sports fans. Pushed so many boundaries and showed us anything is possible. #ripkobe"
Bryant regularly used his Sikorsky S-76 helicopter to travel to and from matches at the Staples Centre, the LA Lakers' home stadium.
But Los Angeles Police Department have confirmed conditions were not suitable for flying when Kobe Bryant's helicopter crashed.
Foggy conditions blanketed the area and a spokesman for the force has confirmed flights from the Air Support division were grounded as a result.
Kobe and his wife Vanessa share three other daughters, Natalia and Bianca and their newborn Capri.
