A host of former Liverpool stars have expressed their delight after the club's 30 year wait for the league title came to an end.
Liverpool were crowned Premier League champions on Thursday night following Chelsea's 2-1 victory against Manchester City.
Legendary former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard missed out on winning the title as a player, but he was jubilant as the Reds won the title.
He wrote on Instagram: 'Congratulations to all @liverpoolfc on winning the premier league. Incredible achievement from a fantastic squad of top players.
'Lead by a world class manager and coaching team also a special mention for the backing from FSG. And lastly and most importantly the fans who have waited 30 years . ❤️ let the party begin.'
Former Liverpool player Phil Thompson told Sky Sports: 'We are back on our perch, it's been a long time coming. It's been a generation, 30 years.
'Yes, we've had the Champions League, but Liverpool has always been about the league championship and we have not been able to get our hands. Now to Jurgen Klopp and the players the utmost congratulations.
'They have been an absolute pleasure to watch and I'd like to congratulate them.'
Rafael Benitez, who managed Liverpool between 2004 and 2010, tweeted: 'Congratulations to @LFC, after 30 years, the dream comes true! Very happy for all the Reds! You'll never walk alone #YNWA #Champions #Liverpool'.
Liverpool owner John Henry described Liverpool's remarkable campaign as 'a season for the ages'.
He wrote: 'This was a season for the ages and for the faithful of Liverpool Football Club. It has been an incredible year of magnificent achievement culminating tonight in capturing the Premier League title.'
Ex-Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva also reacted to the club's title success, tweeting: 'Yes' followed by four red heart emojis.
Ryan Babel tweeted: 'Congratulations @LFC So happy for the club and the fans!!!!'.
Meanwhile, Robbie Fowler, who was referred to as 'God' by Liverpool fans says that Klopp can now take over the nickname.
Speaking on SuperSport TV, Fowler said: 'Jurgen can be called God now, can't he. I'll let him have that. I feel brilliant to be fair, I know we haven't played for Liverpool for a long time but to be here and what we've witnessed, it's just absolutely incredible.'
