Gheorghe Hagi reckons son Ianis is at the ideal club after watching him become a Europa League hero at Ibrox, following his double against Braga.
And he revealed he discussed his son's future with Rangers boss Steven Gerrard.
The former Barcelona and Real Madrid icon was in Glasgow and was pictured with tears in his eyes as his son bagged a superb double to cap an incredible Rangers fightback from being two goals down to Braga to win the first leg 3-2 in the last 32 showdown.
On his return home to Romania, Hagi admitted he was satisfied his son was at the right place after witnessing his progress for himself.
He said: 'Ianis is fit, plays well and is happy.
'He has clearly chosen the ideal team, the ideal club and he is doing very well.
'From now on, I'll let you see how he's doing for himself. He will be the one doing the speaking and we'll just enjoy how he's doing.
'And I wasn't crying. The reason it looked like there was tears in my eyes is because it was very cold.
'I want to say well done and congratulations to Rangers because they played a tremendous match.
'They have a chance of qualifying, but they are playing against a very good team in Braga.
'I don't need to say anything to Ianis, he knows what to do.
'Yes, I did discuss him with Steven Gerrard before the match. That's all I want to say about the night.'
