Gianluigi Donnarumma was one of the heroes of Paris Saint-Germain's Champions League campaign but the goalkeeper is facing an uncertain future because of his contract situation

The agent of Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has confirmed that he's in talks to sign a new contract, pouring cold water on links of a shock move to Manchester United. Donnarumma, 26, helped PSG win the Champions League final on Saturday, although he had little to do as they hammered Inter Milan 5-0 in Munich.

It's the second time that the former AC Milan star has been a champion of a Europe, having been the hero for Italy at Euro 2020 with two penalty saves in the final against England. PSG signed him that summer on a five-year deal, having left Milan in acrimonious circumferences.

That contract expires in June 2026 and it was reported this week that United are among the clubs monitoring his situation. Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim would like to sign a new goalkeeper amid concerns over Andre Onana but Old Trafford chiefs aren't planning to spend big unless their current first-choice shot-stopper decides to leave.

Napoli were also claimed to be interested in Donnarumma but his agent, Enzo Raiola - cousin of the late super agent, Mino - says that talk a move to the Serie A winners is 'pure fantasy'. Instead, they're in talks with PSG over extending his stay in Paris.

"It's pure fantasy. I've an excellent relationship with Director Giovanni Manna at [Napoli], but we've never discussed Gigio," Raiola told Radio CRC via Calciomercato.

"It's an obvious question; many would like him, but only a few can afford him. He feels good in Paris, we're at the European champion club, so we have no complaints. We are working on a renewal [with PSG]."

Raiola hasn't ruled out a move to Napoli in the future, though, as Donnarumma is from Castellammare, a town in the Metropolitan City of Naples. "His mother is a huge Napoli fan, and she gets anxious watching their games. Gigio is connected to that," his representative continued.

"He grew up as a Milan supporter, watching his older brothers in a Rossoneri shirt, but he never denied his roots. In fact, his first stop during the holidays is always Castellammare."

Donnarumma's performances dipped in the early part of the season before he and his team-mates clicked into gear after the winter break, going on to win the treble. His saves against Premier League trio Liverpool, Aston Villa and Arsenal during the Champions League knockout phase were vital to Luis Enrique's all-conquering side.
