Gillingham 0-1 Leicester: Kelechi Iheanacho goal sends Foxes into FA Cup fourth round

  /  autty

Kelechi Iheanacho scored as Leicester defeated League Two's bottom side Gillingham 1-0 to reach the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Gillingham put up an admirable stand against the Foxes, who made eight changes from Tuesday's 1-0 defeat to Fulham in the Premier League, but Iheanacho broke the deadlock after 56 minutes.

The Leicester striker continued his fine form in the FA Cup as he finished from close range after a deflected cut-back from 21-year-old wide midfielder Kasey McAteer, who was making his first start of the season.

Since making his debut in the competition in 2016, Iheanacho has scored more FA Cup goals than any other player (16).

The FA Cup fourth-round draw will take place from 4.05pm on Sunday before the third-round tie between Manchester City and Chelsea.
