Leeds United's Wilfried Gnonto has submitted a written transfer request as he attempts to force a move away from the Championship side.

The Italian winger, who refused to play in their last two games and is training alone, is the subject of interest from Everton.

The Toffees have had their latest bid of £25million, including bonuses and a sell-on clause, for the 19-year-old turned down by Leeds.

The Elland Road club have reiterated that the wantaway winger is not for sale but he has since taken matters into his own hands in writing a written request to leave Leeds, according to The Athletic.

Mail Sport has reported he has sat out training sessions and informed boss Daniel Farke that he was not in the right frame of mind to face Birmingham City last weekend.

He is not in the squad for Leeds' home clash with West Bromwich Albion on Friday night. Fans have also expressed their anger towards the player with chants and banners.

While Everton are preparing for another offer, the club recently claimed that they will take disciplinary action against Gnonto.

Gnonto had asked not to be considered to play for Leeds' EFL clash against Shrewsbury Town and afterwards Farke confirmed the 19-year-old had made himself 'unavailable'.

The club then released a statement which said: 'This is now an internal disciplinary matter and the club will make no further comment, other than to reiterate that Willy is not for sale.'

Gnonto scored four goals in 29 appearances last season and has only played once since Leeds were relegated to the Championship.

Gnonto is determined to secure a return to the Premier League to boost his chances of being called up for Italy's national squad next summer at the European Championship.

He joined Leeds on a five-year deal from Zurich last September and made 45 appearances for Leeds in all competitions last season.
