Gotze reaches an agreement with Dortmund to leave the club this summer (Bild)

In 2014 BVB star Mario Götze scored the goal of his life for world champion Germany in the World Cup final. Six years later, he faces an uncertain future.

Götze's contract with Dortmund expires on June 30. Extension excluded. According to BILD, both sides have agreed that the paths will separate in summer.

Götze sees no future in Dortmund because he does not want to commit to an extension with reduced annual salaries (currently around 10 million euros).

Because it is currently completely unclear whether - and if, when - the Bundesliga will continue, the striker now faces a sad end.

Even if the games restart before Götze's contract ends, it is now relatively unlikely that coach Lucien Favre would still use Götze. In 2020 Götze will have just 14 competitive minutes!
