Guardiola sweating over fitness of three key players ahead of visit from Spurs

Pep Guardiola faces a nervous wait to see if he will be able to call upon Rodri, Ruben Dias and Fernandinho to face Tottenham on Saturday as all three battle injury.

Dias and Fernandinho were not included in the matchday squad for Wednesday night's 3-1 FA Cup fifth-round win against Swansea, while Rodri was forced off injured after 72 minutes.

Victory took City's winning run to 15 games but Guardiola is unsure if three players crucial to that run will be available to him upon a return to Premier League action.

'I didn't speak with Rodri but the doctor didn't tell me anything so hopefully he'll be fit,' Guardiola said after the Swansea win. 'We will see in the next hours.

On the condition of Dias, who has transformed City's defence since arriving from Benfica in the summer, Guardiola said: 'Ruben had a fever and still has a problem with his stomach. That's why he was not able to train yesterday and today we travelled.

'Fernandinho had some niggles in the quad and he was not able to play.'

More to follow.
