Fabrizio Romano has confirmed with his iconic "Here we go" that former Brighton & Hove Albion and Olympique de Marseille head coach Roberto De Zerbi will take the reins at Tottenham Hotspur, succeeding the club's previous manager Tudor.

Romano stated: "BREAKING: Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement to appoint Roberto De Zerbi as their new head coach, here we go!

"The story reported yesterday is now confirmed. De Zerbi has accepted the position at Tottenham, with the appointment taking effect immediately.

"De Zerbi has decided to take on this challenge, and the two parties will sign a five-year contract."

According to prior reports from The Times, De Zerbi's contract will not include a relegation release clause, but will feature a substantial promotion retention bonus.

Interim head coach Tudor only managed Tottenham for 44 days, overseeing 7 matches with a record of just 1 win, 1 draw and 5 losses. The club extended its winless run in the league to 13 games, and currently sits just 1 point above the relegation zone, facing a critical fight for survival.

Before Tudor, Tottenham had already sacked Frank, who was appointed last summer, in February this year.

De Zerbi was dismissed by Olympique de Marseille in February 2026. He took charge of the French club in July 2024, managing 69 matches with a record of 39 wins, 8 draws and 22 losses. He has previously managed Brighton & Hove Albion, FC Shakhtar Donetsk, US Sassuolo, Palermo, among other teams.
