Eden Hazard came off the bench during Real Madrid's 1-1 draw against Chelsea on Tuesday night to make his second appearance in as many games, and he admits that he is simply looking to be in a good condition to help the team in the final stretch of the season.
The Belgian's time at Real Madrid has been blighted by injuries since his arrival in the summer of 2019, but he is looking to merely take things on a game-by-game basis.
"I think I just want to go step by step," Hazard told BT Sport in his post-match interview.
"Of course I want to play, but the last game [against Real Betis] I played 15 minutes, today a bit more.
"We have a couple of games, good games, to play before the end of the season. I just want to be ready for them.
"I feel better, just happy I can play again."
Tuesday saw Hazard able to face former club Chelsea for the first time since leaving, but he did not feel overwhelmed with emotion.
"It's always good to play against friends," he commented.
"I have a couple of friends over there, but now I am a Real Madrid player, so I just want to win. It doesn't matter if it's Chelsea or someone else, I just want to win."
