Eden Hazard has admitted that he would have been 'burned out' if he had followed Cristiano Ronaldo's insane training and recovery plans.
The Portuguese super star is renowned for having some of the most intense and fitness regiemes on the planet, and for many football stars, he is the peak of physical performance, continuing to play at the top level at the age of 38-years-old.
Hazard meanwhile, announced his retirment from professional football last year, after he was released by Real Madrid.
Ronaldo would depart the Spanish giants one year before Hazard moved to the club in 2019 and reflecting on his career, the former Belgian international spoke out on whether he would have liked to have had the Portuguese superstar's mentality.
'No. It wouldn’t have been me,' Hazard said to L'Equipe.
'After training, soaking in the cold bath for an hour, no. Leave me alone, with my friends, we go home, play cards, have a beer.
'I play for two hours with my friends. Children in the garden. It was my recovery. If I had been like Cristiano, I would have been burned out.'
Mail Sport has previously delved into Ronaldo's insane training plan, with the Al-Nassr forward eating six mini-meals each day, napping between training sessions and spending time in his £50,000 cryotherapy chamber.
Upon his retirement, Hazard, meanwhle, admitted that he was looking forward to spending more time with friends and his family away from football.
He was also recently reunited with the Swansea ballboy he once infamously kicked while playing for Chelsea back in 2013.
Charlie Morgan, now worth £40million thanks to his vodka empire, was recently pictured with the 33-year-old former professional to his alcoholic drinks brand Au Vodka, with the pair being seen holding a green drink, while also pictured playing golf.
After leaving Chelsea, Hazard struggled for game time at Real Madrid making just 76 appearances while returning just seven goals. Despite that, he still managed to claim six titles including the Champions League, LaLiga, the Copa del Rey, Spanish Super Cup and UEFA Super Cup.
When asked if moving to Madrid was the right move for him, Hazard stated: 'I've been a Zidane fan since I was a child. The Bernabeu, the white kit... it has a charm that others don't have. Madrid is special.
'Beyond that, I don't think I fit in. It's not like me. It's a bit of a "swaggering" club & I'm not like that. I also didn’t like the way we played if you compare it to other clubs. But it was my dream. I couldn't finish my career without coming here.'
