Thierry Henry believes Marcus Rashford can play as Manchester United's centre forward.
The Arsenal legend said that Rashford "suffers" from being quick, meaning he can thrive on the wing. But speaking after Rashford scored in United's 4-1 win over Newcastle , Henry told United that the England international can play as a No.9.
The Frenchman was effusive in his praise for Rashford, who took his tally to 18 for the campaign after a fine header versus Newcastle. The majority of those goals have come with Rashford cutting inside from the left flank, but Henry believes there are more strings to his bow.
"I always liked him. Sometimes you suffer from what you have," Henry said while on punditry duty for Amazon Prime Video.
"That means, he's quick. People want him to play on the left or the right because he's quick.
"I think he can do a hell of a job as a number nine. I always have confidence in him in front of goal.
"But I like his tenacity. He's lively, he runs at people. People are seeing him with a different eye now and he needs to keep doing this."
Henry's own career saw him convert himself from a left winger who enjoyed cutting inside to an out-and-out No.9, where he scored the bulk of his goals for Arsenal.
