Atletico Madrid face Getafe at the Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday afternoon and Diego Simeone spoke of his admiration for the job Pepe Bordalas is doing.
After beating Alaves 4-0 at home last weekend, Getafe are now just two points behind Sevilla in fourth and they followed up that victory with a 1-0 win against Valencia in the Copa del Rey in midweek.
"Everyone can have the opinion they want, they are free to express themselves," Simeone began when speaking about Getafe.
"But in life, reality is the only thing that counts and Getafe are extraordinary."
With reports that Simeone is set to sign a new deal with the club to 2022, he was quick to deflect when asked about it.
"For now, there is nothing to comment on," he added.
"I am only thinking about the match against Getafe, who are having an extraordinary season in the league and in the cup.
"Since the arrival of Bordalas, they have competed very well."
It was also reported last night that Diego Godin has signed a pre-contract agreement with Inter, meaning that he will be leaving Atleti in the summer when he becomes a free agent, but Simeone emphasised that he will continue to perform, regardless of his future.
"I can't comment, I'm not in his body," said Simeone.
"He will play tomorrow with the same spirit, passion and tenacity that he has played with since he arrived [at the club].
"And he will continue to do so."
