Henderson holds Xmas parties for underprivileged and disabled children

Jordan Henderson made Christmas dreams come true for a group of underprivileged and disabled children by holding three parties and giving every guest a present.

The Liverpool captain hired a lounge on Sunday morning in the Sir Kenny Dalglish stand and then paid for all the food, drink and entertainment at his own expense - some of the gifts included iPads for older children.

Henderson, who was accompanied by team-mate Adam Lallana, met each attendee, signing autographs and posing for pictures with them.

Henderson is a private individual and did not seek — or want — any publicity for his act of exceptional generosity but pictures from the party appeared on social media and the gesture received widespread acclaim.

He was not the only member of Jurgen Klopp's squad to bring festive cheer to those who are less fortunate.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, the England right-back, attended a party for at hotel close to Anfield Stadium for the local charity, An Hour For Others. The 20-year-old is a patron.

Alexander-Arnold posted a message on Twitter, saying: 'To see the looks on the kids faces today is something I'll never forget.

'Had an unbelievable day with these families and elderly from local areas. What @anhourforothers do for deprived families and individuals is life changing and I'm honoured to be a part of that.'
