Henderson reveals he once wanted to KILL Suarez during Liverpool training

Jordan Henderson has revealed how he nearly came to blows with Luis Suarez in training after being belittled by the Uruguay striker during their time at Liverpool.

The Reds captain had just made his £20million move to Anfield from Sunderland in 2011 but at just 20-years-old was still finding his feet in the Premier League despite a string of excellent performances for the Black Cats.

However he admits to having the confidence knocked out of him by Suarez, who had already been at Anfield for six months once Henderson arrived.

During training sessions, Henderson admits he was made to feel inferior by the current Barcelona striker and was ready to 'kill him' before they patched up their differences and their relationship improved significantly.

'I was trying to do the best I can do. Being a footballer, there is criticism and people doubting you all the time,' he told Jamie Carragher's podcast, The Greatest Game.

'At that time, I was a young player and there were one or two things Luis did in training that I didn't like.

'It made me feel I wasn't good enough to be in the same team in training. The arms were up like 'what the f***, what is he doing', like I shouldn't be there.

'That really hurt me. He did it three times and then I exploded and I was ready to kill him. From that point, I had a good relationship with Luis. The next game I set him up for his goal.

'He was brilliant with me after that and I was really close to him after that and he was another big player I learned from.'
