Jordan Henderson has saluted Alder Hey hospital staff after Liverpool supplied the NHS workers with a gift of thanks this week.
The club arranged to drop off a variety of chocolates to workers at the West Derby hospital as a small gesture aimed at lifting spirits during the coronavirus pandemic.
As the number of patients testing positive for the illness continues to rise across the country, NHS staff are being place under increased strain, with Merseyside now accounting for over 1,000 of the confirmed cases in England.
As part of the confectionery delivery, Henderson recorded a message of support to workers at the children's hospital alongside team-mates Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Alder Hey's official Twitter account posted their thanks to the Reds on Friday morning, saying: "Our wonderful friends @LFC have donated lots of treats to us and our fellow #Liverpool hospitals to help staff get through these testing times.
"Not only that, but Henderson, Robertson & TAA have also sent this fantastic message to staff, too!"
Captain Henderson lead the tributes, thanking the care workers for the "amazing job" they have performed during the COVID-19 crisis.
"On behalf of all the Liverpool players, we just want to say thank you for all the work that you are doing," Henderson says. "You're doing an amazing job and we are all right behind you.
"So we have got you something little just to say thank you and we do appreciate everything you are doing.
"So I hope you get some time to enjoy that and enjoy those treats, but again, a big, big thank you from everyone.
"We are all right behind you so keep strong, keep going and stay safe."
Reds skipper Henderson was one of the driving forces behind the Players Together initiative set up last week to donate funds to the NHS during the current public health crisis.
The England midfielder's team-mate, Robertson, also paid tribute to the hospital staff, saying: "Just a quick message to all the NHS workers, we cannot thank you enough for the job that you guys are doing in this incredibly difficult time.
"You guys are the real heroes, trust me.
"So us at LFC just wanted to show our appreciation and give this small gift that will hopefully get you through these long hours that you are working just now.
"So we hope that you enjoy the chocolates and hopefully this is all over soon."
West Derby-born defender Alexander-Arnold finishes off the video echoing the sentiments of Henderson and Robertson.
"Hi guys, just wanted to say thank you for everything that you are doing for us," he says.
"You are real heroes and we appreciate everything that you are doing.
"At Liverpool, we just wanted to send a gesture to make sure you are keeping your spirits high at this difficult time and hopefully this is able to do that for you.
"We know this is such a difficult time for you but the main message is to stay safe, try and stay as healthy as possible and remember, you'll never walk alone."
