Jamie Carragher claims Jurgen Klopp is now a 'God-like' figure in Liverpool now he has given the Reds their first Premier League title in thirty years.
The German manager's side have dominated the Premier League this season, winning the English top-flight which seven games to spare in late June.
Liverpool will finally lift the Premier League trophy in the Kop end after their match against Chelsea on Wednesday night and former defender Carragher paid tribute to the 'monumental' Klopp.
Carragher told Sky Sports: 'I've never seen a manager who has had so much power of their supporters.
'Whatever Jurgen Klopp says, it's almost gospel in this city. He's almost like a God-like figure, especially now when [the Premier League trophy] will be lifted later on.
'It is a monumental job, what he's done. Gradually he got there and it took four or five years.
'He's a special manager, everyone knows that, and him and this team will always be remembered as the team who brought the [Premier League] trophy back.'
Klopp arrived in Liverpool in October 2015, succeeding Brendan Rodgers who left the Reds languishing in mid-table and a long-way off even challenging for the Premier League title.
Over the last five years, the German has assembled a side who gradually lifted themselves up the table, with signings such as Mo Salah, Sadio Mané, Virgil Van Dijk and Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson now the heartbeat of this Liverpool side.
Carragher claimed that the title-winning achievement this season is extra special given the quality of opposition Liverpool have faced since Klopp arrived in England.
The former defender added: 'The reason why it's such a monumental job is [due to] what he's up against. There's great managers in the Premier League.
'Pep Guardiola's here, Mauricio Pochettino, Arsene Wenger was here, Jose Mourinho was at Manchester United - they all had more experience than him in the Premier League.
'They also had more money to spend [than Liverpool] and I include Tottenham in there. If you look at the net spend of what Jurgen has spent, he's only spent £80million net spend in about five years, which is unbelievable compared to his rivals.
'He comes in to take a worse team than any of those clubs and over five years spends a hell of a lot less and now he's a Champions League winner, world champions and and now Premier League winner.'
The Reds were smart in their transfer business since Klopp arrived, with the Merseyside club using funds raised by selling key stars such as Phillippe Coutinho to Barcelona to invest in good-value attacking options.
This smart way of buying players, according to Carragher, is not something seen among the Reds' rivals, with the former Liverpool and England defender claiming that clubs such as Manchester United and Chelsea have fixed their problems with more reckless and sporadic spending on transfers.
Carragher said: 'Liverpool are not a club who can have one bad season and then blow hundreds of millions of money in the transfer market and get close the next season.
'Manchester United could do that, Chelsea have proven that, [but] Liverpool has to be gradual.
'He had to get into the Champions League first, then he had to try and challenge for the title and then he [had to] go again.'
