Leandro Trossard is poised to join Arsenal in a £27million deal as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his attacking options with the Gunners leading the way in the Premier League.
The Belgian has been one of Brighton's leading performers in recent seasons, having managed 25 goals and 14 assists in 121 games, but is now set to make the switch to north London this month.
Martin Odegaard has announced himself as one of the league's best midfielders, Bukayo Saka is a threat on the right-wing, and Gabriel Martinelli has been a consistent performer, meaning Trossard will have to make an instant impact.
The Gunners have been free-flowing in attack at times this campaign, failing to score just once all season so far, and are second for both most goals scored and fewest goals conceded.
So how do his numbers compare with his new team-mates'? On the surface, Trossard ranks quite highly amongst the Gunners' leading attacking players.
Since the start of 2020-21, only Saka (56) and Odegaard (53) have played more games than Trossard (50), and the pair are the only two to play more minutes than the Belgian's - who has been an almost ever-present for the Seagulls with 4135.
Similarly, only Odegaard and Saka managed more passes in the same period, and it is the same story for chances created - with his 70 behind only the Gunners star pair, who dwarf his total with tallies of 107 (Saka) and 117 (Odegaard).
Both Saka and Odegaard are the two most consistently high-ranking of Arsenal's attackers, but Trossard does beat them in some categories.
He has as many goals as Odegaard (15), and more than Gabriel Jesus and Martinelli (13), Emile Smith Rowe (10) and Eddie Nketiah (7) with only Saka registering more (17).
An adept dribbler, he again ranks third for dribbling success rate (55.4%), behind Odegaard (57.5%) and the best player at the club with the ball at their feet judging by the numbers, Smith Rowe (59.6%).
But the figures do suggest Trossard comes some way short of his new team-mates in other categories - his five assists put him fifth out of seven, a passing accuracy of 76.9% leaves him bottom, as does his minutes per goal or assist tally of 207.
The Belgian also finishes fourth for expected goals, second bottom for goals expected per 90, and joint-fifth for dribbles attempted per match.
Overall, Trossard ranks highly in his new side, who can expect him to come close to the creative output of stars Saka and Odegaard, and he is likely to bring them plenty of goal scoring threat, passes and successful dribbles.
However, he falls down the pecking order in assists - although a more clinical attacking line-up at Arsenal could see his numbers increase - and expected goals per match.
The Belgian forward looks likely to improve the Gunners' offensive play, and regularly outperforms the likes of Martinelli, Smith Rowe and Nketiah, although he is unlikely to threaten the perch of Odegaard and Saka at the top of the stat list.
