How Manchester United should line up vs Man City

  /  arrowhead

Man Utd face Manchester City in the Premier League at Old Trafford and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may decide to drop some of his players after Everton.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be looking for a positive reaction from his players after one of their worst performances of the season at Goodison Park on Sunday.

With so many poor displays all over the pitch, Solskjaer has a difficult task ahead of him as he selects his side to face Pep Guardiola's team on Wednesday night.

Does the Norwegian stick with his poor performers from Sunday or totally switch it up and bring in some youth players?

One player who is certain to return to the starting XI is Luke Shaw who is available after a two match suspension for picking up 10 yellow cards this season.

It's a tough one for Solskjaer given how terrible the game at Goodison was as there's arguments to change the entire team. In some ways Sunday's game just needs to be written off and he needs to pick the strongest team available.

While a lot of United fans won't be too upset over a City victory due to the Liverpool winning the league factor they need to avoid a total humiliation which looks likely if they play as they did on Sunday.

Shaw's available again and should come straight back in allowing Lindelof to play where he should always play, at centre back. Ashley Young's too slow to deal with Raheem Sterling so Dalot needs to start at right-back.

McTominay should get the nod to start ahead of Matic who has been poor for a while now, not just on Sunday,  Herrera also needs to come back in even if he's not 100%.

Up front it's difficult because they've all been that bad they shouldn't start but Rashford and Lukaku and Lingard could be United's best options. There's a lot of clamour for Greenwood to start but if involved it should be off the bench.
