Huddersfield's first team donned their eye-catching new kit for the first time for their pre-season friendly against Rochdale.

The Terriers had earlier unveiled the strip, featuring the logo of sponsors Paddy Power in a sash-style diagonally across the front.

The kit is likely to be banned by the Football League for contravening their regulations around logo size.

Club supporters also appeared unimpressed with the kit design, chanting 'stand up if you hate the kit' in the early stages of the match.

Paddy Power have a history of sporting stunts, having previously erected a 108ft statue of Roy Hodgson and placing an 'emergency' Sir Alex Ferguson outside Old Trafford.

According to FA stipulations, only one single area, not exceeding 250 square centimetres, is permitted to carry the advertising of a sponsor.
