Hugo Lloris has expressed his concern about 'negative feelings' around the France camp with the World Cup fast approaching.
The French Football Federation is consumed by scandal with president Noël Le Graët accused of inappropriate behaviour towards female co-workers and a wider culture of harassment within the organisation.
There is also the ongoing blackmail saga involving Paul Pogba after his brother Mathias accused him of asking a witch doctor to cast a spell on his France team-mate Kylian Mbappe.
All of which worries goalkeeper and captain Lloris, who spoke out following Tottenham Hotspur's 2-0 defeat to Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
'I don't have all the facts [concerning the FFF allegations], so I don't know if all of that is well-founded,' he told L'Equipe.
'In any case, with just a few months until the World Cup, it is important to show solidarity and concentrate on the objective [of retaining the World Cup].
'We will need to rely on all of our strength, all of our energy. We need to remain focused on the pitch.
'Things are too scattered around at the minute. I think that the international break will do us some good.
'Even if there isn't any risk involved and a few important absences, it will be good to get together and be close again, especially since we left each other in June with slightly negative feelings.'
France are due to conclude their UEFA Nations League campaign with games against Austria in Paris on September 22 and Denmark in Copenhagen on September 25.
They are currently bottom of League A, Group One in the Nations League and face the possibility of relegation to League B if they can't make up the two points to Austria above them.
Mathias Pogba insists he is a 'complete stranger' to any extortion attempt against his brother.
The midfielder returned to Juventus from Manchester United over the summer and claimed his brother and 'childhood friends' were part of a group who targeted him at the training centre in Turin.
Franceinfo radio claimed that the group, armed with MI6 assault rifles, demanded €13million (£13m) from Paul Pogba.
There was a claim Paul had used a witch doctor to cast a spell on Mbappe, something he denies, and said was made up to discredit him.
Paul reportedly paid €100,000 (£100,000) to the group to 'save time', after he was threatened by masked, armed men in a Paris apartment while on international duty - only to see another multi-million demand issued.
Two judges have been appointed in France to investigate the allegations but Mathias, via his lawyer, sought to 'state emphatically that he is a complete stranger to any extortion attempt against his brother.'
Meanwhile, an investigation by So Foot alleged FFF president Le Graet acted inappropriately to female colleagues, with one former employer claiming: 'It's very simple, he jumps on everything that moves.'
So Foot said several women had resigned from the organisation in the past over sexual harassment and bullying.
