Manchester United midfielder Casemiro said he can't explain how he felt after scoring his first Reds goal in the draw with Chelsea last month.

Erik ten Hag's side were trailing the London outfit late in the clash after Jorginho scored an 87th-minute penalty, but the Reds soon levelled proceedings through Casemiro. He rose highest inside the penalty area to meet Luke Shaw's cross and head the ball past the outstretched hand of Kepa Arrizabalaga in stoppage time.

After scoring an important equaliser for United, the 30-year-old ran over to away end with his teammates and let out several celebratory roars.

When asked to describe his celebrations after scoring, Casemiro admitted that his reaction even surprised himself - insisting that he hadn't planned anything specific.

"I honestly don’t really know how to explain what I was feeling at the time and how I celebrated that goal," he told club media. "Really!

"I’ve watched it back a few times because it was a celebration that I wasn’t expecting, mainly down to how the game had been going. A game in which we’d played well.

"And I think perhaps we deserved a little bit more out of the game as a whole, but, when the goal went in, well I just celebrated like… well, that’s it, I didn’t quite know how to greet that goal because I was so happy.

"And the key was that we managed to get the draw, and of course, whenever you’re helping the team, that’s the main thing."
