Paulo Dybala is set to leave Juventus this summer with rivals Inter Milan ready to swoop in for his signature, according to reports in Italy.
Dybala's current deal in Turin runs out at the end of the season and he was in talks with the club over a new long term deal.
The Argentine now looks ready to walk away on a free transfer after failing to agree to new terms at Juve with the reigning Serie A champions Inter in pole position to sign the forward.
Inter are reportedly prepared to offer him a five-year contract, according to numerous Italian papers including Tuttosport.
The 28-year-old is keen on staying in Italy, therefore makes Simone Inzaghi's side the favourites to capture his signature, although they face stiff competition from some of Europe's elite clubs with Atletico Madrid among others eyeing a move for the forward.
Dybala has been in fine form this season, with 13 goals and 6 assists in 29 appearances across all competitions.
He joined Juventus from Palermo in 2015 and has since played 283 times, netting an impressive 113 goals.
Dybala has also won five Serie A titles and four Coppa Italia trophies during his stay in Turin.
But the Argentine will leave behind a feeling of 'unfinished love', according to La Gazzetta dello Sport following his seven-year stay at the club, which was confirmed to be coming to an end on Monday.
Juventus CEO Maurizio Arrivabene revealed that Dybala will be allowed to leave for free this summer and he stated Dusan Vlahovic's £62million move from Fiorentina in January played a part in that decision.
He told reporters: 'It was a friendly, clear and respectful meeting. We had a very sincere approach.
'With the arrival of Vlahovic, Paulo was no longer at the centre of the project and we made this decision.
'The arrival of Dusan changed the position. The technical structure of the team and the Juventus project has undergone some changes.
'Part of these changes concern Dybala's contract, which has not been renewed.'
Former Juventus midfielder Blaise Matuidi is, however, surprised to see Paulo Dybala leave the Allianz Stadium and believes that 'it won't be easy' to replace him.
'I am on good terms with Paulo, I heard the news, but I haven't talked to him yet,' he told La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper.
'He is a great football and a great person. I am surprised to see him leave, it won't be easy to replace him and find another player of his calibre.
'He has done extraordinary things over the years and I am sure he will find a club that will allow him to do well and improve.
'It's hard to accept but one must have the strength to turn the page.'
