Italy U21s 0-2 England U21s: Rhian Brewster's early brace fires Young Lions to victory over Italy

England beat Italy thanks to an early brace from Sheffield United striker Rhian Brewster as they continued their preparations for the U21s Euros Romania and Georgia next summer.

Brewster put the young Lions into a commanding position early on as he followed up his 3rd-minute penalty goal, by netting from the centre of the box two minutes later after he was played in by midfielder Angel Gomes. It was almost 3-0 before the break as Chelsea defender on loan at Brighton Levi Colwill struck the post with a header.

Italy fought back in the second half as they tried to find a way back into the match, as Nicolo Fagioli, Lorenzo Colombo and Caleb Okoli all tried to find the net. Manchester City's Cole Palmer went close to sealing the win, but his effort was saved by Alessandro Plizzari in the 65th minute. Italy's Nico Rovella was sent off in the closing stages as he picked up his second yellow card for a bad foul on Aston Villa's Jacob Ramsey.
