Jadon Sancho 'may have to hand in a transfer request' to force through his Manchester United move

Jadon Sancho may have to take matters into his own hands by submitting a transfer request to Borussia Dortmund to push through a move to Manchester United, according to reports.

The 20-year-old winger was reportedly optimistic of a deal being completed last week but has since been left in a frustrating limbo with Dortmund insisting he is staying put.

And with the deal now having reached a major stumbling block, The Sun claim that Sancho is feeling helpless and is now facing the dilemma of whether to acrimoniously force his way out by handing in a transfer request or demanding to leave.

As stated by Sportsmail on Monday, Sancho is not the only frustrated party in negotiations, with United increasingly irritated with the England international's representatives as well as the Bundesliga side's refusal to deal with them directly.

The German outfit have appointed an agent as an intermediary to negotiate with United and have rejected their offer of £70million potentially rising to £110m depending on honours and appearances.

The report also adds Sancho's representatives have also snubbed United's contract bid, with the Dortmund winger wanting a figure closer to £250,000 as opposed to the £220,000 currently being offered to him at Old Trafford.

However, as stated by Sportsmail, United will not give up in their pursuit of Sancho and will look to continue negotiations with the hope of finding a way of resurrecting the deal.

That is despite Sancho being part of the Dortmund squad which flew out to Switzerland on Monday after the deadline on the deal the German's attempted to impose passed without a deal being struck.

Dortmund chief Michael Zorc was dismissive when asked about Sancho's future after the club arrived in Switzerland, saying any deal with United was off after their deadline passed, with the players travelling to Switzerland for a pre-season training camp.

'We plan with Jadon Sancho,' he said. 'He'll play for us next season. The decision is final. I think that answers all of the questions.'

Sancho's current team-mate Axel Witsel was also delighted with the fact the £108m-rated star was back in training.

Recent reports have also suggested United may look to sign Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele if they continue to be frustrated with Dortmund's negotiating style.

Sancho continued the electric start to his career by smashing in 20 goals for the German outfit last season, also providing 18 assists to maintain his status as one of the top creative midfield players in the world.
