Jamie Carragher made a fashionably late entrance to CBS Sports' live coverage of the Champions League in Brooklyn Tuesday afternoon.
The Liverpool legend was missing in action when the crew first went to air in New York but later showed up after some issues getting into the country.
Hilariously, he had an abstract suggestion as to who might have been behind the delay.
'It was a bit difficult getting through passport control,' Carragher said after a few jokes at his expense by host, Kate Abdo.
'I don't really know,' Carragher said when prompted as to the reasoning for the holdup.
'Maybe it's the criticism [of Christian Pulisic]. Maybe Pulisic's dad was the fella doing the passports, I don't know. I've given him a little bit of stick, haven't I?'
Carragher has indeed offered opinions which could seem harsh to partisan supporters of Pulisic, suggesting he was not good enough to play for Chelsea in September -- following the firing of Thomas Tuchel.
'Do you think he's not playing because of Thomas Tuchel or himself?,' Carragher asked at the time.
'I don't think he's good enough to play for Chelsea. I think he's been there for a few years now. I think he's had enough opportunities.
'I don't think a new manager is gonna completely rejuvenate him...I just think he's a squad player for Chelsea no matter who the manager is.'
Carragher followed up with another critique after Pulisic was an unused substitute for new manager Graham Potter in the 3-0 win over AC Milan earlier this month.
'I think it's a little bit worrying for America in terms of the World Cup,' he said during CBS' coverage of the Champions League on October 5.
'It doesn't look like he's gonna be maybe at his best, in terms of fitness-wise, energy, sharpness, rhythm.
'There's just so many players in those attacking positions, the most he's gonna get is minutes coming off the bench. And I don't know if that will be enough for him to show his best in the national team in the World Cup.'
Since, Pulisic has shown some resurgence, scoring against Wolves on October 8, and more recently, assisting Kai Havertz in Chelsea's 3-1 win vs. RB Salzburg Wednesday.
