Jamie Redknapp says Liverpool have got to be 'more clinical'

Jamie Redknapp has blasted Liverpool for their wastefulness after Sunday's shock 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace at Anfield.

The Reds were dealt a serious blow in their hunt Premier League title as Eberechi Eze scored the only goal in Palace’s shock 1-0 win at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp’s side were punished for a poor start by Eze after 14 minutes and then failed to take a host of chances in a frustrating second half on Sunday.

Redknapp said: 'so many chances, it felt like you could be there until next week and they wouldn't have scored.

'Liverpool missed a host of chances. When it gets to the end of the season, this is when you've got to be clinical.

Former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson agreed and said that Klopp's team were paying the price for a lack of a natural goalscorer.

'I think that's a bad finish, a lot of them are bad finishes. It was one of those days.

'Curtis Jones, I think the lad Wharton does well here, he puts him under a bit of pressure. You can't keep on going behind.

'They haven't got a natural goalscorer. That's Arsenal's problem. Man City have got a natural goalscorer and they're top of the league at the moment.
