Jay Rodriguez is returning to Burnley in a £10million deal.

The Turf Moor club has agreed to pay the West Bromwich Albion striker's release clause and he is due to hold talks ahead of joining up with Burnley in their pre-season camp in Portugal.

The 29-year old was born in Burnley and began his career with the club scoring 41 goals in 128 games before being sold to Southampton for £7m in 2012.

The one time England international joined West Brom in 2017 and scored 22 goals in the Championship last season only to miss out on promotion after play off semi final defeat to Aston Villa.

Burnley showed interest last year and manager Sean Dyche has opted to pay the clause which will see Albion receive £10m.

Burnley agreed to sign left back Erik Pieters from Stoke at the weekend and want a centre back amid growing interest in their £40m rated England defender James Tarkowski.

Albion, meanwhile, have agreed a new three year contract with teenage midfielder Rekeem Harper.

The 19-year-old had interest from Celtic, Norwich City and Tottenham.

Louie Barry, the 16-year-old, England international who rejected a contract with West Brom is joining Spanish giants Barcelona, as revealed by Sportsmail at the weekend.
