Joao Felix 'wants to leave Atletico Madrid and could go as soon as January'

Atletico Madrid star Joao Felix is 'looking to force a move a way from the club after falling out with manager Diego Simeone.'

The 22-year-old has managed 30 goals in 121 games for Atleti since making his debut as a teenager, and plays a rotation role for Portugal.

He began this season with a hattrick of assists in a 3-0 win over Getafe, but has since lost his place in the starting eleven.

According to reports in Portuguese paper A Bola, the forward has 'lost patience' with Simeone' after he was asked three times to warm-up in Madrid's 0-0 loss against Club Brugge without being brought on.

This appears to be the latest in a series of spats between the pair though, as the paper also reports that Felix fell out with the manager in 2021 after being picked when injured, a situation a medical expert linked to Atletico called 'bullying.'

Simeone's relationship with his starlet forward has been describes as 'irreparable', and the player could try and secure a move as soon as 'January.'

Felix is likely to have plenty of suitors if he does leave, with Manchester United, PSG and Barcelona all rumoured to be keen on him.

He may be missed by Simeone's side, who have had a mixed start to the season.

They sit fourth in La Liga after nine games but are already five points off the leaders, while there Champions League form has been dire and left them in serious danger of failing to reach the knockout rounds.
