Jonathan Walters has put himself forward to replace Eden Hazard at Chelsea after recalling the time he scored two own goals and missed a penalty for Stoke against the Blues in January 2013.
Walters stooped to head Cesar Azpilicueta's cross into his own net before the break, then managed to do the same from Juan Mata's corner shortly after.
The now-departed Hazard scored the fourth that day, with Walters' unwanted double and a Frank Lampard penalty doing the early damage, while the Irishman's late spot-kick hit the bar.
Walters joked 'Now that @hazardeden10 has left. If you want goals from someone who has produced for you in the past @ chelseafc I could be tempted', adding the hashtag #2in0 in reference to his own goals.
Walters' former team-mate Charlie Adam, who was part of the Stoke squad that day, chipped in by claiming 'Remember it well'.
Walters announced his retirement in March after a persistent Achilles injury that restricted him to just three appearances this season while on loan at Ipswich.
He was formally released by Burnley last week after two years at the club, joining from Stoke in 2017.
Walters is somewhat of a cult hero at Stoke, clocking up 271 games and 72 goals across seven seasons.
