Jose Mourinho snaps at female reporter after Brighton defeat

Jose Mourinho lost his composure on Sunday as he snapped at a female television reporter following Manchester United's defeat at Brighton.

Goals from Glenn Murray, Shane Duffy and Pascal Gross condemned United to a 3-2 loss at the Amex Stadium to heap further pressure on the Portuguese boss.

And the strain clearly got to him during a routine interview with beIN Sport reporter Carrie Brown after the full-time whistle.

Mourinho gave short shrift to the first question put to him about how the game had gone, surmising: 'We made mistakes, and we were punished by the mistakes.'

Brown attempted to ask about the level of cohesiveness between his players, asking if it was a fair assessment to suggest the squad was struggling for communication and chemistry on the pitch.

The United boss clearly took issue with the question, answering back sarcastically: 'You must be fantastic in your job to have the ability to speak about chemistry between players.'

Clearly taken aback by the attitude shown, Brown regained her composure to ask a final question, only to once again be met with the same short answer given for the first.

Mourinho has endured a fraught summer at Old Trafford, with his relationship with players and the boardroom clearly strained.

Last week, he was forced to reply to reports that his relationship with captain Paul Pogba was at an all-time low, something he vehemently denied.

Mourinho has not been afraid to criticise United's transfer business this summer, something that has upset those upstairs at Old Trafford, chief among them CEO Ed Woodward.

He was in the stands at the Amex Stadium on Sunday, cutting a gloomy figure as he watched the side fall to their first defeat of the new campaign.
