Josko Gvardiol has admitted he wants to follow 'wherever' teammate Christopher Nkunku goes - in a huge hint regarding his future.
Nkunku will reportedly make a move to Chelsea in the summer having already agreed terms to join the Blues when his release clause opens up.
'The signs are very, very clear that he's moving to Chelsea,' RB Lepizig sporting director Max Eberl told BILD, with the forward expected to make the £53 million move.
It appears that his RB Leipzig teammate, Gvardiol, is also willing to relocate - after missing out on joining Chelsea in the summer.
Speaking to The Times, the 21-year-old also discussed the uncertainty surrounding his failed blockbuster transfer.
Gvardiol said: 'I was really confused because one month before the window starts I was upstairs with the sporting director and he says, "Yeah Josko, we are not going to sell you, we need you, we believe in you."
'I was like ok I am fine with this, I can stay here, I like it here, all I need is to work on myself, to play, to win something else. It was like this until the last two days.'
Gvardiol continued: 'My agent called me and said that Chelsea is extremely interested and, of course, you definitely think about a serious offer from a huge club like Chelsea. Leipzig said they didn't want to sell me.'
The move did not materialise and the defender has spoken about how he found dealing with the disappointment challenging.
'In the end I really struggled with that decision but we didn't make an agreement. It is what it is,' added the Croatian international.
However, the rumours surrounding the transfer will surely begin to recirculate after Gvardiol's comments on Nkunku.
Speaking about the French forward, Gvardiol said: 'I have never seen before a player like Christoph, he is unbelievable.'
In news that will get Chelsea fans purring, the World Cup semi-finalist added: 'Every time I talk with someone about him I always say wherever he goes I want to go with him.'
Chelsea have splashed the cash under new owner Todd Boehly and spent a staggering £323million in the January transfer window.
With Nkunku set to arrive - plans already seem to be in motion for the summer and Chelsea fans will be waiting to see if Gvardiol's move can be pushed over the line this time round.
Despite the new signings, Graham Potter's side have struggled for results since the January transfer window and currently sit in 10th place in the Premier League.
The Blues have a London derby against Tottenham up next - hoping to kickstart the second-half of their campaign.
