Arsenal have been told their title challenge has been built on luck - with the Gunners' opponents regularly missing key players, and Arsenal fans are fuming with the claim.

Arsenal have been told their title challenge is based on "luck" - with key players often missing when they face the Gunners.

When speaking on talkSPORT, journalist Adrian Durham fumed: “No team deserves this amount of luck! It’s getting ridiculous!” And the host went on to list the players that had missed the clash, including Casemiro when the Gunners played Manchester United.

Tottenham Hotspur had been missing Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur, while Luis Diaz was injured for the Liverpool clash. However, it's not just the top six, and Moises Caicedo, Alexis Mac Allister and James Maddison have all not featured against the Gunners.

However, Arsenal fans were quick to hit back: "No Jesus for the last few months, No Partey against United at Old Trafford or against City. two can play that game!"

Football isn’t about injuries, it’s about how you deal with them," a second added. While a third tweeted: "Honestly, I don't know what some people take to have these stinking takes."

And a fourth tweeted: "You can do this for many teams in the league. This is proper clutching on straws. They deserve their flowers on the table, don’t lie!"

The Gunners are currently top of the pile, but they have seen their lead cut after some poor results, and a crucial loss against Manchester City.

Arsenal are currently five points ahead of City, but the two sides still have to face each other at the Etihad Stadium before the end of the season.
